We have been successfully holding PAT Training courses in Leeds and on our customers own premises since 1999. Many of our former students have gone on to establish successful PAT testing business's in different parts of the UK. We regularly train staff from local authorities, schools & colleges etc as well as those from national, regional and local companies.

We can offer a range of Portable Appliance Testing courses, suitable for most popular types of PAT testers. Courses are usually held in Leeds, West Yorkshire and also at our Head Office in Hamilton, Scotland. What does the PAT Training course cover?

The full day session covers the theory of PAT testing, legislation and a practical session where attendees are given the opportunity to perform electrical safety checks on electrical items.

Typical PAT Testing Course content includes:
Introduction to Portable Appliance Testing.
Legislation; Class I, Class II and Class III definition; Frequency of testing.

Electrical Safety Testing On Portable Electrical Appliances.
Visual Inspection; Fuse Test; Earth bond Test; Insulation Test; Flash Test; Earth Leakage Test.

Testing Leads.
Extension Leads; IEC Leads.

Testing IT and Computer Equipment.

Practical PAT Testing.
Start up; Test Codes; Appliance Labelling; Appliance Numbering; Bar Codes; Results & Record Keeping.

Practical Download/Upload.
PAT Course content can vary depending on the type of PAT tester used. Upon completion of the course all delegates receive a personalised certificate of attendance. A copy of the IEE Code of Practice is also available at £20 (usual price £35) for future reference to each course. We also offer discounts on any new Portable Appliance Testers relevant to the course.
